My work involves contributing to bioinformatics pipeline development and data analysis.
Background
After a BSc in Zoology, I completed my MS in Biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune. My masters thesis was my first introduction to bioinformatics and involved characterising patterns and rates of transcriptional variation in the malaria parasite, P. falciparum. Since then I have worked with data from lab-evolved drug-resistant E. coli, explored mutation patterns in S. pneumoniae, and contributed to the development of bioinformatics software.
An abiding interest in infectious disease research and pathogen genomics led me to my current role with the Data Analysis and Engineering team in the GSU.
