I am currently working on the population genetics of various parasites affecting human health, in particular Leishmania and Guinea worm. I use whole-genome sequencing data of parasite genomes to understand the genetic population structure of the parasite. In the past, I have worked on method development for quantitative trait locus mapping using inferred haplotypes and for disease gene mapping in population-based association studies.
