Ms Shaista Madad
PhD Student
I am a first year PhD student at Sanger Institute and, I am interested in the application of single cell profiling technologies to create reference maps of human organs, and to better understand how cells attain their identity.
My interest in single cell genomics developed during my Master’s studies. For my MS thesis, I worked on a computational method to integrate single cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq data in Satija Lab. I really enjoyed the challenge of learning the increasingly important statistical and computational skills to analyse single cell data from different modalities. I hope to further improve these skills during my PhD.
