Identifying potential vaccine targets for Group B Streptococcus (GBS) through pan-genome analysis
I am working on the pan-genome analysis of Group B Streptococcus (GBS) isolates, utilizing a large dataset (n = 23,381) collected as part of the JUNO study spanning 1940-2023. This analysis aims to describe the GBS pan-genome, highlight differences between genetic repertoires of GBS lineages, and identify capsule-independent vaccine targets with high coverage and immunological conservation. Beyond my research, I also actively participate in Bioinformatics training workshops, empowering researchers from low-resource settings to independently analyse genomic datasets.
